Background
Elaine Richard has resided in Niagara for the past twenty five years. She practiced in the areas of family, civil and criminal litigation with the firm of Lancaster, Mix & Welch (now Lancaster, Brooks & Welch) following her call to the Bar in 1986. In 1993, Elaine joined Graham Repei and practiced in partnership as Repei, Richard where she focused primarily on family law. In 2008, Elaine began practice as a partner with Chown Cairns.
Elaine is with the family law practice group at Chown providing advice and representation on divorce and separation, including custody and access, child and spousal support, and property division issues. She also assists clients with the drafting of marriage contracts, wills and powers of attorney.
Elaine has extensive experience in negotiating settlements and has appeared in all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice.
